As can be expected from a place called Mothers, we're talking about Dutch home cooking along with a side of kitsch. In a café-style room alive with conversation and full of antiques and photos of mothers (to which you can contribute your own snapshot), guests are treated to simple homegrown dishes prepared with a refined gusto, even if it's just mashed potatoes with sausage or a steak fried in butter. (Vegetarians be warned: pickings are slim.) They also have a daily dish special for €10 every day until 7 pm. On sunny days ask try to snag a table on their canal-side terrace.
