Bakkerswinkel

Bakkerswinkel Review

This genteel yet unpretentious bakery and tearoom evokes an English country kitchen, one that lovingly prepares and serves breakfasts, high tea, hearty-breaded sandwiches, soups, and divine slabs of quiche. The closely clustered wooden tables don't make for much privacy, but this place is a true oasis if you want to indulge in a healthful breakfast or lunch. The convenient location on busy Zeedijk will only be open until 2014, when the original Bakkerswinkel reopens at Warmoesstraat 69 after renovations. There are several other locations: such as one complete with a garden patio in the Museum District and another at Westergasfabriek, plus a takeout-only counter at Warmoesstraat 133.
