If you're looking for the most unique dining experience in Amsterdam, this former offshore TV tower transported from the North Sea—and perched (thankfully not precariously) out on the IJ River—delivers. Though the food takes a bit of a backseat to the phenomenal views, you can still enjoy a solid bistro-style lunch of oysters or tabouli salad with Dutch shrimp, or a dinner of roasted chicken with mashed potatoes. And did we mention those views? Depending on where you sit, gaze out across the river to the NDSM wharf or back toward the city skyline. Plan to bike or take a cab to reach REM, though, as it's a hike from the closest tram and bus stops.
