The international kitchen of this former town house has created a loyal following, who flock here for excellent food, a sash-window view over the Westersingel, and an intimate setting (tables are very close together). The very friendly staff are more than helpful with their recommendations, as are your next-table neighbors. For a special taste treat, try the truffle soup, or the skate wing with garlic sauce. Note that this is not the same establishment as Grand Café Engels, on the Stationsplein, which is much more mainstream.
