Dark wooden floors, unobtrusive lighting, and a big fireplace make Kip's traditional interior warm and cozy. As befits the restaurant's name (which means chicken), the chicken breast (from a special Dutch breed called Hollandse blauwhoender) with truffles is the most popular dish, but the kitchen offers a whole lot more. There's always a daily-changing fish option, such as cod with saffron and fennel sauce, and plenty of meatier fare, such as veal in wild mushroom sauce. The menu must work, because this spot is always packed. In summer, a leafy garden at the back provides welcome respite from the bustle of the big city.
