Here you will see one of the largest collections of North Sea fish and invertebrates in Europe, as well as tropical saltwater and freshwater fish. The aquarium has 60 tanks and three outdoor pools of seals, carp, and penguins. On a realistic nesting cliff, adorable penguins rest, waddle by, and stare back curiously at onlookers. Watch the seals, Kobbe-Lars, Amalie, and their companions, as they zoom by like swimming torpedoes. Tanks inside are filled with schools of brilliantly colored tropical fish as well as Norwegian salmon and common eels, which tend to wrap around each other. The Aquarium: Bergen and the Local Coastline -- a 360-degree video directed by one of Norway's most beloved animators, the late Ivo Caprino -- is shown every hour, as is SOS Planet, a 3-D film that you watch with special glasses. The aquarium is on Nordnes Peninsula, a 20-minute walk from the fish market. You can also get to it by taking Bus 11 or the ferry from the fish market.
