Fodor's Review:
Considered one of the most outstanding Romanesque churches in Norway, this is the oldest building in Bergen used for its original purpose. It began as a church in the 12th century but gained a Gothic choir, richly decorated portals, and a splendid baroque pulpit, much of it added by the Hanseatic merchants who owned it from 1408 to 1766. See the gilded triptych at the high altar that dates from the late Middle Ages. Organ recitals are held every Tuesday at 7:30 PM from late June through August.
