Fodor's Review:

Known as "the hotel with the sea on three sides," the Clarion has stunning views of the wharf, the fish market, and Mt. Fløien. Book well in advance for the rooms with the best harbor views. Most rooms have upscale chain-hotel-style furnishings. Some of the suites, however, are decorated with hardwood antique reproductions. Sjøtonnen, the à la carte restaurant, specializes in seafood. After dinner, have a nightcap in the hotel's cognac-and-cigar lounge, which has burnished red-leather sofas.

Very Dirty Hotel!

Posted by carolb10 from Denver, Colorado on 8/12/08
Very disappointing hotel for being considered a 4 star hotel. The initial standard room I was given was filthy. The shower curtain was covered in mold. The window curtains were covered in black mold. Carpet had not been vaccuumed in quite a while and walls were filthy. The second room I was given after much argument from the front desk (an upgraded room with balcony and very expensive) was better, but certainly not worth the price. Next time I am staying at the Radisson or the Thon hotel in Bergen.
