Dating from1913, one of the city's oldest and most distinctive hotels is on a quiet, central street. The lobby has a memorable collection of painted Norwegian furniture by Lars Kinsarvik. The hotel's café-restaurant, Hordastova, is well known for its traditional fare, especially klippfisk (salted and sun-dried cod), fried mackerel, and smoked cod. Rooms are small but nicely decorated with simple Scandinavian-style furniture in solid colors like beige and plum.
