Olympiaparken

Olympiaparken Review

The Olympiaparken has a range of winter as well as summer activities. You can visit the ski-jump tower and take the chairlift to the top for some stunning views, or step inside the bobsled simulator at the Lysgårdsbakkene Ski Jump Arena, where the Winter Olympics' opening and closing ceremonies were held. Also in the park are Håkons Hall, the main hockey arena during the Olympic Games, which now holds sporting events and includes simulated, indoor golf-course holes. The Birkebeineren Ski Stadium holds cross-country and biathlon events. You can go tobogganing at the Kanthaugen Freestyle Arena. And at the Olympic Bobsleigh and Luge Track you can bobsled on ice. This involves a rubber bobsled with wooden runners that seats five passengers and can travel as fast as 80 kph (50 mph).
