A stone's throw from the Royal Palace, this no-frills guesthouse has reasonably priced, comfortable, but rather spartan rooms. Some have TVs, but there are no phones. Most of the 88 rooms have private bathrooms, but check when you make your reservation; some also have kitchenettes.

This is an upscale pension with many older guests seeking a bargain in very expensive Oslo. We stayed in the newer wing with ensuite bathroom and a small kitchenette. The rooms were small but very clean and well maintained. The bathroom is small and the shower smaller. There is an elevator but no a/c or in room phones (we did not have a cell phone that worked in Norway and it was a big problem for us as the payphone is very expensive).
