Ibsenhuset-Grimstad Bymuseum (the Ibsen House)

Ibsenhuset-Grimstad Bymuseum (the Ibsen House) Review

Grimstad Apotek is now a part of Ibsenhuset-Grimstad Bymuseum and has been preserved with its 1837 interior intact. Ibsen wrote his first play, Catlina, here. Every summer Grimstad holds an Ibsen festival celebrating the famous playwright. The museum also has a maritime department and a section honoring Terje Vigen, a folk hero who was the subject of a poem by Ibsen. He is credited with riding to Denmark to bring back food for the starving Norwegians.
