The West Coast: Places to Explore

Voss

Set between the Hardanger and Sogne fjords, Voss is in a handy place to begin an exploration of Fjord Norway. Once considered a stopover, Voss now attracts visitors drawn by its concerts, festivals, farms, and other attractions. Norwegians know Voss best for its skiing and famous jazz festival—Vossajazz—held annually in March. People come from all over Norway for the Sheep's Heads Festival, a celebration of the culinary delicacy of this area.
