Raemoir House Hotel Review
Dating from the 16th to 19th centuries, this baronial home 2 mi north of Banchory makes you feel like you're on the set of a period drama. Guest rooms—a number of which have four-poster beds—have a genteel period charm and large, modern bathrooms. The restaurant, in an oval ballroom, has a solid reputation based on exquisite Scottish fare created with seasonal local produce. And the morning room, despite its name, is the perfect place to nurse a wee nip of whisky before bed. You can take some lovely walks on the estate's 3,500 acres of hillock and woodland.
