Glenfiddich Distillery
Glenfiddich Distillery Review
Many make Glenfiddich Distillery, ½ mi north of Dufftown, their first stop on the Malt Whisky Trail. The independent company of William Grant and Sons Limited was the first to realize the tourist potential of the distilling process. The company began offering tours around the typical pagoda-roof malting buildings and subsequently built an entertaining visitor center. Besides a free 20-minute tour of the distillery there's a two-hour in-depth Connoisseurs' Tour (£20; reserve ahead in summer) that includes a special nosing and tasting session. Check out the Glenfiddich Distillery Art Gallery, showing the work of international artists.
