Auld Kirk Review

This strikingly renovated old church makes for an interesting stay. The contemporary bed-and-breakfast's guest rooms are simply furnished, but are functional and have high-quality showers. Breakfast is served in the calm of the Minister's Room, and you can opt for a dinner of good, updated Scottish fare in the stark but stylish Spirit Restaurant. The Kirk Bar—an oxymoron if ever there was one, considering the Calvinist views of the church—is a modish lounge with a bar made from the old pews. Tables are set outside for balmier evenings.
