The George Hotel Review

The Clark family has run this 18th-century former coaching inn at the heart of Inveraray town for six generations, and the warmth of the welcome reflects the benefit of continuity: roaring log fires invite repose in the common rooms, and antiques and oil paintings in the individually decorated rooms make you feel as though you were in a slower-paced era. Rooms vary in price substantially based on size and amenities; the most expensive have whirlpool tubs. There is WiFi in public areas only. Locals fill the restaurant to sample the excellent food, such as king scallop and bacon kebabs with lemon basil and shallots.
