Western Isles Hotel Review

Like an elderly dowager, this grand hotel from the Victorian era looks down on Tobermory from its wonderful location overlooking the Sound of Mull; it suffered a period of neglect but is now being refurbished and restored to its former state. Glorious views from its huge windows and its large high-ceilinged rooms make it an attractive place to stay. Bedrooms are comfortable and roomy; the more expensive ones have sea views. The hotel has a lovely outside terrace and a bar in a large conservatory, as well as reassuringly old-fashioned lounges. The restaurant serves a very good £27.50 prix-fixe dinner.
