Loch an Eilean

Loch an Eilean Review

The place that best sums up Speyside's piney ambience is probably a nature reserve called Loch an Eilean. There are great low-level paths around the tree-rimmed loch (perfect for bikes) or longer trails to Glen Einich. A converted cottage beside Loch an Eilean serves as a visitor center.

Rothiemurchus Estate. Loch an Eilein is on the Rothiemurchus Estate, which offers several diversions, including hiking, biking, fly-fishing for salmon and trout, dogsledding, clay-pigeon shooting, and farm-shop tastings of estate-produced beef, venison, and trout.
