Old Scatness Review

Ongoing excavations at Old Scatness have uncovered the remains of an Iron Age village, including one building that still has a roof. The digs continue, but enthusiastic and entertaining guides, most in costume, tell stories that breathe life into the stones and the middens. They also show how the former residents made their clothes and cooked their food, including their staple dish: the ghastly seaweed porridge. Call ahead for hours.
