Ednam House Hotel Review

People return again and again to this large, stately hotel on the banks of the River Tweed, close to Kelso's grand abbey and sprawling Market Square. It's set back from the main street, its grand frontage first glimpsed between two pillars. The main hall, part of the original 1761 home, welcomes you with deep-seated armchairs, lovely paintings, and an open fire. Beyond it, the lounge is spacious and luxurious. The restaurant's three windowed walls overlook the garden and river, and its Scottish fare includes Borders beef, Highland venison, and traditional puddings.
