Crieff Hydro Review

One of the great Victorian hydropathy centers scattered across central Scotland, this grand, old-fashioned hotel has been owned and run by the same family for over a hundred years. Its modernized rooms are of a standard design and some are fairly cramped, but most have king-size beds. The hotel appeals to families, and there's a wide range of activities for children both in hotel and on the extensive 900-acre grounds. More a resort than a hotel, it offers golf and tennis, as well as a gym and an extensive spa. The on-site Meikle restaurant is formal and offers a prix-fixe menu (£27.50).
