Kinloch Lodge Review

Overlooking the tidal Loch na Dal, this historic lodge has buildings that date from the 17th century. The newer South House has the best views and has been solidly built with comfort and relaxation in mind. You're welcomed with a glass of champagne by the friendly, professional staff. Guest rooms, decorated with antiques, fine fabrics, and quilted bedspreads, have views over the water, the hills, or the grounds. The dining room serves up confidently prepared food—everything down to the shortbread is made on the premises. A small shop carries great kitchen gadgets as well as jams made by the owner, Lady Claire Macdonald. If you like the food, you can take cooking classes with her or award-winning chef Marcello Tully.
