Tongue Hotel Review

With open fireplaces in its public areas and hunting lodge-style rooms, the Tongue Hotel makes a great base for exploring this most northern coast of the Scottish mainland. It overlooks Ben Hope and Ben Loyal, down the Kyle of Tongue, and ruined Castle Varrich, which caps its hill like a bejewelled crown. You'll appreciate the numerous information folders detailing things to see and do in the area. The bedrooms are bright and well-designed. and most have fantastic views. The formal restaurant serves up hearty mains, and the pub offers traditional bar food and a pint of beer. Both have menus that include sustainable local fare like Scrabster haddock and Caithness beef.
