Hospes Palacio del Bailío Review

This tastefully renovated 17th-century mansion, built over the ruins of a Roman house in the historic center of town, is one of the city's top lodging options, where archaeological remains combine with contemporary features—Roman ruins are visible beneath the glass floor of one of the patios and the dining room—and clever lighting and a relaxing spa complete the mélange of contemporary and antique. The spacious rooms have parquet floors, exposed brick walls, and many original architectural features. Splash out on the blue Gran Capitán or the pink Don Quijote suite. The restaurant ($$) offers a fusion of modern and traditional Córdoba cuisine and there's a tapas bar.
