Hammam

Hammam Review

Above Córdoba's Arab hammam baths, this eatery has many vegetarian and vegan choices, like the ensalada de sultan starter with pine nuts, raisins, and dried fruits in an orange-and-almond dressing. Traditional moutabal (baba ghanoush) and hummus are tempting dips served with freshly made, warm pita bread. You can follow with a choice of couscous, including meat or vegetables, or more conventional mains, like roasted lamb in a honey-based sauce. Adjourn to the tetería (tea shop) after dinner for an herb tea or abatido (fruit smoothie)—the yogurt-date-banana version is delicious. You can combine a visit to the baths with a meal in the restaurant, and on weekends it's open non-stop noon to 2 am.
