Zumaia Review

Zumaia is a snug little port and summer resort with the estuary of the Urola River flowing—back and forth, according to the tide—through town.

Museo Zuloaga. The Museo Zuloaga, on N634 at the eastern edge of town, has an extraordinary collection of paintings by Goya, El Greco, Zurbarán, and others, in addition to works by the Basque impressionist Ignacio Zuloaga. The museum is open March to September 15, Wednesday through Sunday from 4 to 8. The rest of the year it's open by prior arrangement only. Admission is €6. 943/862341. www.ignaciozuloaga.com.
