Museo de León

Museo de León Review

This museum displays many important artifacts from the region, going from prehistoric to contemporary times, but pride of place belongs to the Cristo Carrizo (Carrizo Crucifix), a small 11th-century Romanesque ivory carving distinguished by its lifelike expression and powerful presence. Notable are the figure's carefully coiffed hair and beard and the loincloth arranged in sumptuous Byzantine detail.
