Castillo de Dénia Review

Dénia's most interesting architectural attraction is the castle overlooking the town, and the Palau del Governador (Governor's Palace) inside. On the site of an 11th-century Moorish fortress, the Renaissance-era palace was built in the 17th century and was later demolished. A major restoration project was initiated in 2011. The fortress has an interesting archaeological museum as well as the remains of a Renaissance bastion and a Moorish portal with a lovely horseshoe arch.
