El Puerto

El Puerto Review

This glass-enclosed dining room, housed in what was once Gijón's fish market, overlooks the harbor and serves fine, imaginative seafood and meats. Since taking the helm in 2011, Gonzalo Pañeda and Antonio Pérez have maintained the restaurant's renowned emphasis on its Cantabrian catch, with specialties like salmonetes desespindados con pil-pil (fillet of red mullet in a garlicky sauce) and cola de cigala con hongos y emulsión de sus cabezas con algas (crayfish tail with mushroom and seaweed emulsion).
