The Rastro area in Embajadores traces back to the last third of the 16th century, when it marked the lower part of the old city’s wall. The old slaughterhouses of this quarter (and all the other businesses related to that trade) are the origins of today's flea market, which spreads all over the neighborhood on Sunday. It gets quite busy on the weekends, especially on Sunday morning.
