The Pyrenees: Places to Explore

Panticosa and the Tena Valley

The Valle de Tena, a north-south hexagon of 400 square km (154 square mi), is formed by the Gállego River and its tributaries, principally the Aguaslimpias and the Caldares. A glacial valley surrounded by peaks rising to more than 10,000 feet (such as the 10,900-foot Vignemale), Tena is a busy hiking and winter-sports center.
