Spalentor (Spalen Gate)
Spalentor (Spalen Gate) Review
Like the St. Alban-Tor, the Spalentor served as one of Basel's medieval city gates. More imposing than graceful, the 14th-century structure has a toothy wooden portcullis; note Basel's coat of arms atop the gate.
