Perched on a peninsula overlooking the lake and mountains, this vacation lodge geared to leisurely stays has a merely peripheral view of St. Moritz's urban sprawl across the highway along with a big, sunny balcony, dining rooms with views, and a clientele that includes family groups and senior citizens. The reasonably priced restaurant stocks more than 1,500 wines, and owner-entrepreneur Claudio Bernasconi has introduced Switzerland's most extensive whiskey bar (over 2,500 bottles available). Guest rooms are plain, with pine trim and some dated plumbing, though many modern baths have been added in recent years. The Thursday night buffet—at 58 SF—is a big hit.
