Bus Travel
You can take the Swiss postbus (postauto) system's Palm Express from Lugano in the Ticino to St. Moritz. The four-hour trip passes through a corner of Italy and over the Maloja Pass. Reservations are essential and owners of a Swiss Pass will need to purchase the additional Alpine Ticket for 15 SF. Postbuses are a good way to wind your way up Alpine switchbacks over the region's great passes—that is, if you're not inclined toward motion sickness. The main ski resorts have "sport bus" shuttles, which connect the villages and mountain stations. The service is usually included in the price of your lift ticket or on presentation of a "guest card" (check to see if your hotel offers these discount booklets).
