Palace Hotel Review

This waterfront hotel drinks in the broadest possible lake views. Built in 1906, it has been brilliantly refurbished so that its classical look has a touch of postmodernism. Rooms are large enough for a game of badminton, and picture windows afford sweeping views of Mt. Pilatus. The hotel's elegance also seeps into its formal restaurant, Jasper. The contemporary cuisine—think veal with celery mousse and truffle sauce—is flawlessly prepared. The bar has a clubby look—leather chairs, brass fixtures, and a long oak bar.
