In a town known for blocklike towers, this petite Relais & Chateaux-listed auberge with its preserved wooden facade stands out. The roomy suite-apartments have polished wood floors, stucco walls, balconies, fireplaces, and Jacuzzis. The restaurant, L'Ours Gastronomique, draws a chic crowd, thanks to chef Franck Reynaud's superb French seasonal dishes such as almond-roasted lamb with apricot reduction; book well in advance for a table. Spa L'Alpage is a prime spot to rejuvenate after a day of skiing or hiking the trails.
