Le Chemin des Planètes. Walk through the universe on an astronomically themed 6-km (4-mi) trail called Le Chemin des Planètes. The Tignousa funicular (round-trip 15 SF) delivers you to the starting point at 2,200 meters (7,218 feet). Models of the planets are set along a pathway that begins at the base of the Observatoire François-Xavier Bagnoud (027/4755808 www.ofxb.ch). Allow two hours to make the ascent from there, past the Hotel Weisshorn. For 10 SF you can view the night sky through the reflecting and refracting telescopes at the observatory.
