A useful network of postbus routes covers the region for the resourceful traveler (with plenty of time) who desires connections to outlying villages and hamlets; some routes are covered only once or twice a day. The signature yellow buses pick up at rail stations and drop off at rural post offices harkening back to the day when they were the main source of mail delivery. Schedules are available from tourist offices and rail stations; in smaller towns at the post office.
