Once you're here, it's a good idea to park the car if you have one, since those streets that aren't pedestrian zones are liable to be one-way -- you'll get fewer headaches on foot and the city's public transit system (ZVV, 0840/988988, www.zvv.ch) is excellent, thanks to its trams and trains (buses only go to the suburbs). The Zurich Card (15 SF) gets you 24 hours of municipal public transportation in the greater Zurich area, plus free entry into more than 40 museums (Tourist Information, Hauptbahnhof; 044/2154000, www.zuerich.com). A network of water taxis services the upper Limmat and the lake (044/7777777).
