Schauspielhaus Pfauenbühne (Peacock Theater)

Schauspielhaus Pfauenbühne (Peacock Theater) Review

During World War II this was the only German-language theater in Europe that wasn't muzzled by the Nazis, and it attracted some of the continent's bravest and best artists. It has been presenting plays ever since it was built in 1884; today its productions aren't always so risky, but they are stunningly mounted and performed, in German of course. There are no tours, so to see the interior you must see a show.
