A'laturca Review

One of the best restaurants in Göreme, A'laturca serves a delicious array of mezes, including hummus with pastirma (Turkish pastrami) and grilled calamari. Main courses are stylishly presented renditions of such Turkish classics as ali nazik (grilled meat served over eggplant with yogurt), but variations on steak, chicken, and seafood are all excellent and portions are generous. The decor—terra-cotta-tile floors with kilims—is elegant but not overdone. For dessert, don't miss the walnut-stuffed dried apricots and figs, served warm with clotted cream.

    A'laturca Review

We ate here in June 2010 and were very disappointed. The view from the terrace was nice and starters were good, but the entrees were really awful. My lamb was so overcooked and dry as to be inedible and my husband's dish had canned vegetables in it. This was the only bad meal we had in Turkey, and probably the most expensive.
