Tasköprü

Tasköprü Review

Just northwest of Kümbet Cami is the Tasköprü, known as "the Stone Bridge," of Seljuk origin dating from the 1400s and built of volcanic rock. On either side of the bridge you will be able to see some of the restoration projects being undertaken by the Global Heritage Fund. On the south side is the 300-year-old home of famed poet Nemik Kemal, which is being turned into a cultural center, while on the north side a row of Ottoman-era riverside timber and stone homes has been restored and painted. There are also plans to restore two ancient hamams near the bridge.
