Gaziantep, Mt. Nemrut and Sanliurfa (Urfa)
Getting here: Fly in and out of Gaziantep from Istanbul.
How much time? Four or five days is enough time to see thes area; with extra time, spend another night in Gaziantep to try another of the city's great restaurants.
Getting around: We recommend flying, then renting a car, although intercity buses are possible.
When to go: Summer can be oppressively hot, with temperatures over 100°F, and winter is cold and damp, so the best time to visit is in spring (late April through early June) and fall (September-early November).
Top sights: Mount Nemrut, the Gaziantep Museum, the bazaar in Gaziantep, the carp pools in Sanliurfa.
By yourself or with a guide? It's easy to see this area by yourself, though you might want to take a guided tour of Mt. Nemrut from Gaziantep.
