Alaçati

Alaçati Review

A pretty village 2 km (1 mi) south of Ilica, Alaçati bustles in the evening when the trendy cafés, restaurants, and boutiques fill with hip crowds. The main strip is always lively; to avoid the hubbub come in the afternoon when the crowd is mostly locals and storeowners, although it gets very hot. The beach at Alaçati, about 2 km (1 mi) south of town, is ideal for windsurfing, with strong winds and few waves. Unfortunately, there is only a small, public beach here, but many of the private beach clubs and hotels with private beaches allow nonguests for a day rate. The water is cooler at Alaçatit than it is at other beaches. Watersports like water-skiing, banana boat rides, and windsurfing are available here.
