Among the interesting artifacts at Izmir's archaeology museum are the 2nd-century statues of Demeter and Poseidon found when the agora was excavated. There is also an impressive collection of tombs and friezes, and a memorable, colossal statue of the Roman emperor Domitian (AD 51-96, ruled 81-96).
