When to Go
July and August are the region's most crowded months. You'll have the beaches pretty much to yourself in June and September, although the water is much cooler than it is during high season. If you're interested in touring the villages and historic sites—and if you've never been to a camel-wrestling match—plan your trip from December through March, when flights and accommodations are inexpensive and camels are competing throughout the region.
