South Wales: Places to Explore
St. David's
Despite its miniscule size, this community of under 1,800 people is not a village or a hamlet—it's actually Britain's smallest city. Historically, little St. David's has punched above its weight due to the presence of St. David's Cathedral, the resting place of the patron saint of Wales and once a major destination for pilgrims. These days, visitors with time on their hands might want to consider approaching the city via the Pembrokeshire Coast Path, around the St. David's headland from St. Justinian to Caerfai Bay. In May and June the town's hedgerows and coastal paths are ablaze with wildflowers. The town's visitor center also has a small collection of art and artifacts drawn from the collection of the National Museum of Wales.
