Mariposa Jungle Lodge Review

Two American lawyers, Jim and Sharyn Brinker, opened this small, intimate lodge in late 2007. Six well-designed cabañas are set in the shade on a low hill, with pimento walls, thatch roofs, and furniture handmade at the lodge and elsewhere in Belize. They're outfitted with everything you'll need, down to flashlights, purified-water coolers, and umbrellas. Meals are served in the main lodge building, which also has a bar, an art-filled guest study, and a gift shop. Dinners are themed, with international touches from the owners' travels. Breakfast and dinner cost BZ$84 per person per day, plus 22.5% tax and service. A new swimming pool has been added.
