Playa Jacó

Playa Jacó Review

This long, palm-lined beach west of town is a pleasant enough spot in the morning but can burn the soles of your feet on a sunny afternoon. Though the gray sand and beachside construction make this spot less attractive than most other Costa Rican beaches, it's a good place to soak up the sun or enjoy a sunset. The beach is popular with surfers for the consistency of its waves, but when the surf is up, swimmers should beware of dangerous rip currents. During the rainy months the ocean here is not very clean. Amenities: food and drinks; toilets at local restaurants and hotels. Best for: surfing; sunsets; sunbathing.
